Using Scripture
When it comes to using Scriptures, we must understand their meaning in the Biblical time and its meaning in modern time to ensure it is effectively used in context. Duvall and Hays (2005) posited, “We cannot apply the Bible without knowing what it means (p.213).” “When we grasp God’s Word, we not only understand its meaning, but we also take the final step and apply that meaning to our lives (Duvall & Hays, 2005, p. 213).” Jerry Falwell Library Online has many databases for Religion and Philosophy to support Scripture’s interpretation and research.
APA 7TH Edition (The Professional Version)
Liberty University is currently using APA 7Th edition. The change occurred in 2020 from the 6th edition. Please make sure you are using the correct format, as it has made some major adjustments to writing. For instance, the rules of the Bible citations have changed completely, you must now cite the Bible version in the body of your writing and include it in your reference list. Please review the tools on the Online Writing Center for support of APA7.
