Your client is considering a site on North Seventh in Bozeman, MT for a project. The program for the site will be a ground floor restaurant with apartments above on the upper floor(s). Each residential floor will have 6 one bedroom, 8 two bedroom and 4 three bedroom units. Assume 10% of ground floor is for the residential and the restaurant dinning area will be a 3:1 ratio to the back of house. This assignment will document regulations that are applicable to the site and climatic conditions that will influence any structure placed on the site.

Utilizing Climate Consultant, available on D2L, you are to document climate data related to Bozeman, MT. Select the ASHRAE Standard 55 and Current Handbook of Fundamentals model to run the analysis. The following charts are to be included in your report (temperature range should utilize “Fit to Data”):
- Annual Temperature Range
- Psychrometric Chart with Design Strategies
- Wind Wheel
- Identify the Design Strategies from Climate Consultant and provide a description of each strategy
documenting how it will improve the comfort and / energy efficiency of a building.
In addition to the written report, you are to create annotated drawing(s) showing the background information identified above in graphic form as it relates to your site regulations. Drawings will include setbacks, floodplains, easements, protected areas, ecological zones as applicable. Drawings are to be scaled appropriate to the level of information and size of site. Drawings are to be formatted on 11 x 17” paper horizontal format.

Required Format
Written portion of the assignment shall be in the following format:
- 8 -1/2” x 11” paper portrait format
- One (1) inch border all sides
- Arial font, 11 point, double-spaced, and type written.
Drawings shall be in the following format:
- 11“x17” paper landscape format
- Include drawing title, scale, north arrow, dimensions, and whatever else is pertinent to the assignment.

A critical analysis of the topic is required to score well. All work must be done by the group independently from other students or groups in the course.
Projects are to be submitted electronically to the Assignment folder on D2L associated with this project, unless the student has made other arrangements with the instructor.

Assignments will be accepted after the prearranged deadline ONLY for circumstances outlined in thesyllabus and with prior approval of the instructor.
No Late Work will be accepted without prior approval.This project can be resubmitted once to improve the grade by up to one letter grade higher. The resubmittal is to include the original submission with annotations identifying the errors and what was done to correct these along with an updated version of the complete assignment incorporating the revisions.
