Murder investigation is a science but not perfect. There are instances of investigative failure both on the part of law enforcement and forensics. For this paper you are going to analyze one of three cases and answer the questions below. Your paper must include material from the textbook but also must include at least two peer-reviewed sources not including the textbook. You can use non peer-reviewed sources in addition to your required sources. Paper must be a minimum of four and no more than five full pages double-spaced not including the title or citation pages. Must use APA for citation.

- Use must address the three major sections below and answer the correlating questions
- Case Summary
- What happened in this case? What were some of the key elements that caused investigative failure?
- Analysis
- Analyze the errors of the case. What techniques were or were not used? Correctly or incorrectly?
- Impact
- What was the impact of the error on this case? So, do you think that something was missed? What was the final outcome of the case? Compare to other cases.
- APA requirements
- No Abstract is required for this paper, a Title Page is required.
- Paper must be typed & numbered.
- Paper must be 6 pages in length.
- Paper should adhere to A.P.A format.
- Do not use secondary citations (i.e., a citation that was in one of your readings, but you never actually read the original research). Do not cite by summarizing one reading, then another, then another, etc. Instead, you need to integrate the citations into your essay.
