Make a table as follows. List 4-5 columns across the top of a sheet of paper. Each column should list a different way that technologies can be selected (e.g. markets, government/law, etc.) For each column, give up to 5-6 examples of tools (technological artifacts) that you feel should have future advances selected by this route.
Make a second table with the same column headers and the same artifacts, but now list them under the column that shows how future advances ARE currently selected.
If the two tables are not identical, take one artifact whose advances are not selected today as you think they should be, and write a paragraph or two explaining why you think a different method should be used.
Write a short paragraph summarizing Chapter 8 of the textbook.
