We will be working on Singer’s "Famine, Affluence, and Morality"
For this assignment, you must explain one of Singer’s premises (we will go over his premises in class). Then you must provide an objection to that premise. Finally, you must respond to that objection. Feel free to label each part if that helps you (Part I: Explain the Premise, Part II: Object to the Premise, Part III: Answer/Respond to that Objection).
For example (this isn’t what Singer says):
(Part I: Explain the premise) Singer states that the Harry Potter books are better than the Lord of the Rings books for many reasons. Here I will focus on his second premise which states that wizards are more interesting than hobbits. He explains that….
(Object to the premise) Someone might object to this premise by stating that there are, in fact, wizards in the Lord of the Rings book. In fact, there is powerful magic displayed in the series. (You’ll need to fill in here)
