Each student is required to submit an individual and personal coaching philosophy. Some students may find it helpful to start this process by creating an outline to organize your objectives, beliefs and guiding principles. Your philosophy must include at least three major objectives and how your beliefs and principles will specifically help you reach your stated objectives. Although there is no required format associated with your philosophy, I expect to see an introductory paragraph, supporting paragraphs and a proper conclusion.
I also highly recommend that students review Chapters 1-3, They Call Me Coach and the videos included in the Module 14 Introduction Page as resources to help you develop and refine your personal coaching philosophy. If you’re not planning to coach a sport, your philosophy can relate to your future profession.
