view of human nature is that we are meaning seeking. We create society
through the process of interaction (meaning presentation). Society is a
system of meaning that is constantly changing as everyday interactions
alter the patterns we live by. This perspective focuses on how our
everyday interactions shape and reshape the society we live within.
Society changes when old meanings no longer hold or when new actions
require a new set of reactions.
Requirements/Grading
The essay must be at least 750 and no more than 1,000 words.
Format should be a 12-point font and double-spaced.
The essay must use one of the three sociological perspectives
(Functionalism, Symbolic Interactionism, or Conflict Theory).
The essay must contain at least three (3) concepts from the course.
